~ About the SOFT Trisomy 18 and Trisomy 13 Growth Charts ~

Bonnie Baty, PhD, Genetic Counselor at the University of Utah, in collaboration with SOFT, created the first, and still only, charts with growth curves for infants and children with trisomy 18 and 13.

Children’s standardized growth charts are separate for boys and girls. The SOFT charts are a combination of both male and female growth. Baty’s study notes that children with trisomy 18 and 13 are generally smaller at birth and grow slower than other children. This is especially true for children with trisomy 18. Baty’s charts allow growth percentile comparison of these children with their peers.

The Adobe .pdf growth charts are provided separately by weight, height and head circumference for viewing, printing or saving in full page size by clicking on the desired chart selection, below. SOFT suggests parents print and provide these growth charts to their child’s doctor.  Click on the link below and the selected chart will appear. You may save or print them from the printer icon at the bottom of the chart that appears.

You must have the free Adobe software installed to access these – most users will already have this software, as it is so commonly used. Should you not have it, close all programs you are running, open your internet browser and go to http://get.adobe.com/reader/ and download the program. If you do not want it to automatically add a Google Toolbar to your device, ”uncheck” the Google Toolbar selection before downloading.

When viewing these .pdf files, use your browser’s “back” button (or equivalent navigation method) to return to this page.  Click on the desired selection, below:
