2023 Trisomy Awareness Month Begins March 1st!

The 2023 Trisomy Awareness Month proclamations are beginning to roll in. All proclamations received so far this year are featured below. Although March been declared and recognized as Trisomy Awareness Month for over a decade it has taken some time to get the month officially recognized by individual states. Our numbers are growing year after year. We are gaining traction, our efforts to spread awareness are working. 

Exciting news this year, the Virginia State Congress is in the process of declaring March as Trisomy Awareness Month on a permanent basis. Check out the video below to learn more.

To receive a Proclamation it must be requested by a resident of the state on behalf of SOFT or through the state congress as in the case of Virginia. A big thank you to our SOFT families  who have assisted with this project by requesting a proclamations from their state each year.

States proclaiming March as Trisomy Awareness Month so far this year include: Arizona, Arkansas, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Washington, Wisconsin and Wyoming. Other states will be added as the proclamations arrive.
