Ella’s Story

Ella Bewshear, Mosaic Trisomy 13, 7/24/2012, London, England

“She is nearly always smiling and is the best thing to ever happen to me – my little princess.”

JpegI am a young mum; had my little girl at 19 and it was a normal pregnancy apart from feeling ill quite a lot, however the doctors said all my blood tests were normal. Ella was born one day late on the 24th July 2012 and weighed a good weight of 7lb 2oz. We were kept in hospital for four days due to her blood sugar being low which is how they found out that she had mosaic trisomy 13.  After being told what Ella had we were told to expect the worse just in case.  Ella’s dad and I didn’t know what to do or what to think so we started looking for answers on the internet which is where I found out about SOFT.  Ella has had hundreds of hospital appointments and has a lot of specialists making sure she does the best she can. Over the 11 and a half months she has been alive so far she has come so far she has just started trying to get onto her knees and can just about  sit on her own. She is a very loving and happy little girl who loves to chat and loves her food.  She is nearly always smiling and is the best thing to ever happen to me – my little princess.
