What is something unique and special about your child with trisomy that you wish more people knew?
She had the cutest nose and she calmed down when I held her in my arms. I still remember how soft and warm her forehead felt when I kissed her for the first time.
Why do you believe raising awareness about trisomy conditions is important, and how can others make a difference?
I believe it’s important to empower parents with accurate information so that their children get the same medical care as any other child born with 46 chromosomes. Educating, promoting research, advocating for perinatal and disabled rights is the way to make a difference.
During Trisomy Awareness Month, what message would you like to share with the world about your family’s journey and the trisomy community?
Things would have been so different if we had known about SOFT before receiving the diagnosis.
I’m glad other families are making a difference.
Paz left an empty space in our hearts that cannot be filled with anything, but helping raise awareness meant healing and transforming that void into hope and love.
