SOFT is a family consisting of many beautifully diverse individuals. Loving a person with a trisomy condition is the glue that holds us all together. Today and every day, we stand with the many others that are protesting against the ongoing racial injustice prevalent in our society. The countless lives that have been lost are a bitter reminder that we must all do better to combat the attitudes and intolerable actions that divide us, while persevering in our efforts to bring about changes that will unite us.
Black lives matter.
We stand with the entire black community – our black trisomy children, our black SOFT families, and the black service providers that care for our trisomy children.
SOFT’s mission is to inspire hope and respect all on their trisomy journey. As an organization we recognize that there is room for growth and that we need to do better to represent the whole of our membership. We will expand on our ability to express our values of education, hope, research, community, and respect by listening to our membership and welcoming the conversations of how we can improve.
