What is something unique and special about your child with trisomy that you wish more people knew?

That each child is their own and can surprise you with how much they are willing to fight, but you have to give them the chance! Don’t give up hope! God has a plan for each and everyone of these kids!

Why do you believe raising awareness about trisomy conditions is important, and how can others make a difference?

I feel that in order to change the narrative more people have to know about trisomy conditions and there needs to be a push for better care and willingness to give these precious babies a chance with life saving procedures. I feel that the more parents share their children’s stories and push for fair care the more kids will get a chance.

During Trisomy Awareness Month, what message would you like to share with the world about your family’s journey and the trisomy community?

The power of prayer is amazing to see. My daughter is my sisters biological baby and when she received the news people immediately started praying. At first we were told it didn’t look good but as she continued to grow some of the markers they saw started to go away. When she was born we didn’t know how much time we had but we trusted in God and since then she has been sick 2 times and each time she has pulled through. Continue to fight for your child. You are their advocate!
