What is something unique and special about your child with trisomy that you wish more people knew?

Aryabelle is a truly unique individual. Despite her diagnosis, she is generally a cheerful baby girl. While her mood can vary, she often rewards those around her with smiles and playful smirks. She has a tendency to gently touch or playfully slap your face, and if you are wearing glasses, she enjoys removing them when you hold her.

Why do you believe raising awareness about trisomy conditions is important, and how can others make a difference?

Most of my family and friends were aware of her diagnosis when she was born, but some didn’t fully understand her condition. As a result, they often assume that she will outgrow it as she gets older. Raising awareness about trisomy conditions will not only benefit them but also educate others who may not know these conditions exist.

During Trisomy Awareness Month, what message would you like to share with the world about your family’s journey and the trisomy community?

This journey has been challenging and rewarding, as we allowed her to explore the world. Her experiences have taught us the importance of hope and the power of love. We’ve learned to cherish the small victories and to embrace each day with gratitude.

I am grateful to our community for its support. We inspire each other and share our experiences with new moms. Seeing older children thrive gives us hope, and we grieve alongside those parents whose babies have gained their wings.
