What is something unique and special about your child with trisomy that you wish more people knew?
Ashton is happy. She’s smart. She’s a funny young woman with a huge attitude! She’s nothing like what the drs told us that she would be.
Why do you believe raising awareness about trisomy conditions is important, and how can others make a difference?
Awareness is the only way to gain the attention of medical professionals, educators, caregivers and families to let them know that our children are valued, worthy of love and deserved of a quality of life.
During Trisomy Awareness Month, what message would you like to share with the world about your family’s journey and the trisomy community?
We have been on this Trisomy Journey for 25 years. The first two years were the hardest. But we made it through with the help of Dr. Carey, Jim & Debbie Dye, the Utah (and extended) SOFT Crew and our family & friends. We used our heart and head for every decision. We have been extremely blessed with a strong willed daughter and a support system to get us through each day. It’s never easy, but it is worth it.
