What is something unique and special about your child with trisomy that you wish more people knew?
Dawson is an amazing little boy. He was the joy of our family for 18 years. He could tell you he loved you just in his facial expressions and sounds. Although he never spoke with words, he spoke in so many other ways. He will live on in our hearts forever. He taught so many how much joy adopting a child with Trisomy 18 can bring to their family. We love you, Dawson and miss you every day.
Why do you believe raising awareness about trisomy conditions is important, and how can others make a difference?
Raising awareness about trisomy conditions is imperative. There are so many amazing children that can teach us so many things. With medical advancements over the last 20 years, our children can live and have a great life. We need to continue to change the narrative for a trisomy diagnosis.
During Trisomy Awareness Month, what message would you like to share with the world about your family’s journey and the trisomy community?
Soft is a wonderful organization that is helped with so many and in so many ways throughout Dawson‘s life. Even in his passing the way, Soft surrounded us and loved us has been unbelievable. I will forever be grateful for that one day when I googled trisomy 18 and found them. Sure there were sometimes that it was hard, but I would do it all over again because the good far outweighs the bad. Dawson was worth every minute that we poured into him. He changed our lives. He gave us more than we ever gave him. The purest love that anyone person could give. He gave love and never expected anything in return. We love you, Dawson and miss you every day. Thanks for being our son and thank you God for choosing Dawson to be ours.
