What is something unique and special about your child with trisomy that you wish more people knew?
Ana is very expressive, stubborn, beautiful and lovable. She loves music, hearing her classmates sing and make noise. Her diagnosis does not define her.
Why do you believe raising awareness about trisomy conditions is important, and how can others make a difference?
Raising awareness about a Trisomy 18 is important because a diagnosis in utero does not mean a death sentence. ” Not compatible with life” should never be said again. There are a lot of children and adults living well with Trisomy18 and are the joy of their families.
During Trisomy Awareness Month, what message would you like to share with the world about your family’s journey and the trisomy community?
While it may not be easy, normal or typical raising my beautiful granddaughter has been a joy. We never heard of Trisomy 18 until her diagnosis. Researching Trisomy 18 lead us to this great community. We can ask, learn and cry together.
